Mystery in Pink by Artsie-KittyGirl Mystery in Pink by Artsie-KittyGirl
This was the first project I completed completely on Adobe Illustrator CC! I know its a pretty small step towards becoming a professional commercial illustrator, but it was still quite exciting. Anyways, you probably recognize the character in my drawing from a fairly popular British TV series called Sherlock. This is actually a recreation of a scene form the first episode, "Study in Pink", hence the pink color palette. I made each line using the pencil tool, making me learn line width and brush definition very quickly... sink or swim. In the end I'm very happy with this project, even if it's only a recreation. :)

It looks very good, like a pic from a Well-detailed comic. Also, I love The fact that you chose to make it all in pink :lol:

THat is amazing. Must have been hell of a lot of work. I love the concept. Playing around with the idea of the title is very clever and my - it has a lot of wonderful details in it from everything on the table and the menu that you actually wrote out down to the amazingly done texture of Benedict's coat. Brilliant. :clap: I also love the way you did both of their hair. I always struggle with Martin's.

I know what you mean. Every drama now a days has a color palette that would be more suitable for a funeral. I get the gesture behind it... but I think that its possible to illustrate dramatic, and emotional circumstances with some more lively colors. Anyways thank you very much for your kind words. :)

Yeah... the only thing that I decided couldn't put myself through was the gannet marbling on the wall behind them. (you can see it in the link for the original image) I seriously think that would have killed me!

Oh, I get your point, but honestly I like your version better, adding the pink shade instead of detailed background.
Otherwise it will be too complicated and won't bring out the characters <3

hmmm... I think your right about that. I just hate having to back down from a challenge, even if it's in my best interests to do so. ^^;
